Michael is a designer with over 16 years experience under his belt.

He started out as a teenager tinkering around in Photoshop and Flash, which led to working for an advertising startup - building and designing software and adverts at the age of 17. Following that he studied at London Metropolitan University where he earned a degree in Digital Media. Michael then spent 3 years with a web design agency in Soho, where he refined his skills and really developed his passion for design, along with a ton of client-facing skills.

Since 2011, Michael has been freelance, working on projects for high profile clients in the startup community, as well as startups of his own.

Michael has worked on website design & build, branding & logo design, app design, user experience (UX) design & consultancy, illustration, animation, video and even won awards for his writing.

He's extremely passionate about design, and loves making things which are not only beautiful but highly functional and easy to use.

When not designing, you'll find him either climbing, cycling or PC gaming!

Teacher

Since early 2015, Michael has been the Lead Design Instructor for General Assembly London. He teaches various one-day workshops covering topics from Design Fundamentals to User Experience, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign courses, as well as an 8-week part-time Visual Design course. Entrepreneur

In 2011, Michael co-founded the London networking events company, 3beards. 3beards host over 60 events per year, including the highly popular weekly Silicon Drinkabout, the monthly Don't Pitch Me Bro, monthly Chew The Fat, and the annual Digital Sizzle. With 3beards, Michael helped transform the European startup community by building a unique and strong brand, backed up by amazing community management and events. He's been lucky enough to travel the world, enhancing & expanding out the startup community, launching new locations for Silicon Drinkabout and speaking at events.

In 2012, he co-founded and designed Pollarize, an iPhone app constructed for social decision making. The app received funding through Wayra UK, but was ultimately unsuccessful.

Most recently, Michael has begun working on a new software app, CareWrapper - an easy to use management tool for social care, wrapping up care planning & live care interactions - instantly and in one place.
