Hi! I’m Michael, a designer based in London with over 20 years experience. I design digital products and websites and love making things which are not only beautiful, but highly functional and easy to use.

Design has been my passion since a young age. I started out as a teenager tinkering around in Photoshop and Flash, which led to working for an advertising startup – building and designing software and adverts at the age of 17. Since then, my career has varied from agencies, product design, technology startups, founding companies and more. I’m constantly learning new things and make it my focus to regularly attend workshops, read blogs, listen to podcasts, play with new programmes, understand concepts/theories of UX/UI and apply these to projects in my spare time and at work. Learning new skills allows me to approach problems from a better standpoint.

I love working on projects that have a positive impact or bring joy, and on a team level I’m drawn towards people with different backgrounds. I genuinely believe that diverse teams produce the best experiences, and in turn this helps us avoid biases and assumptions on how things should work.

Since early 2015, I’ve also been the Lead Design Instructor for General Assembly, helping aspiring design students build a career they love by giving feedback and sharing my knowledge and passion. I teach various one day workshops covering topics from Visual Design Fundamentals to User Experience, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign courses, as well as an 8-week part time Visual Design course.
